The interactive map below shows trap captures for multiple pests, including Spotted Wing Drosophila (SWD), Cherry Fruitworm (CFW), Cranberry Fruitworm (CBFW), and Blueberry Maggot (BBM).
To view SWD trap captures, select ‘Spotted Wing Drossphila (SWD)’ from the dropdown menu for ‘Species’ above the map. We are working on making the map default to SWD and we appreciate your patience while we do so!
Map provided by New York State Integrated Pest Management and Cornell Cooperative Extension with funding from New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets
First detected in New York in 2011 and presumed distributed throughout New York as of 2012. Trap captures were reported on a county basis from 2011 to 2023. Beginning in 2024, we are reporting on a site-specific basis to account for more precise geographic locations and microclimates. Locations on the map are approximate. GPS coordinates have been truncated to show only township and not exact locations in order to protect privacy.
